24 Hour Study Hall Rules

  • The 24-hour study hall is open 24/7.
  • The 24-hour study hall should be quiet and avoid any behavior that may disturb other users.
  • It is forbidden to enter the 24 hour study hall with food and drink.
  • Users are responsible for their belongings. Library management is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • Users can connect to the internet from personal computers via wireless network.

Group Study Room Rules

  • There are group study rooms in our library for our users. These rooms can be used by making an appointment on the same day. It can be used by the users who want a projection device in the group study rooms.
  • Group study rooms are available between 08.45-23.00 on weekdays and weekends.
  • Group study rooms can be allocated to groups of at least 6 people for a period of 3 hours.
  • The keys to the group study rooms can be obtained from the current floor attendant in exchange for ID.
  • After the scheduled appointment time, the hall attendant must be notified.
  • In case the rooms are locked and left, personal belongings are removed from the room and the rights of the group working room are canceled.
  • In case the room key is lost, the identity holder must pay a fine of 5 TL. Otherwise, he can't get his identity back.
  • Non-borrowed resources should not be left in the group study room.
  • It is forbidden to eat and drink in group work rooms.
  • No valuable items should be left in the group study rooms.
  • The library is not responsible for any items left or lost.
  • The key for the group study rooms must be returned at the latest 15 minutes before the library closes.
  • Group study rooms are periodically checked by library staff.

Carrell Rules

  • Carrells are reserved for one-person use and is reserved for doctorate, graduate, undergraduate and associate degree students with academic staff of our university.
  • The carrells are available with Baskent University ID card.
  • Food and drink consumption in the carrells is prohibited.
  • Phone calls cannot be made in the carrells.
  • No valuable items should be left in the carrells.
  • Library books (not borrowed) should not be left in the carrells.
  • Those who damage the library material and belongings are given to the disciplinary committee.
  • Carrell can be used by another user when not used by the lessor. The right of use belongs to the person renting the carrell.
  • Carrell key must be returned at the latest 15 minutes before the library closes.
  • If at least 2 carrells are not available at the time of the return of the carrell key, no carrell extension is required.
  • There is no extension during the visa and final term.
  • The carrells can be borrowed from the reception desk of the periodicals for 3 hours. Returns are made from the same counter.
  • If the time limit for carrell usage is exceeded, 3TL penalty is charged.
  • If the carrell key is lost, 5TL will be charged.
  • Reserved carrell can be given to another user if they are not delivered within 10 minutes after the specified time.
  • Users are responsible for their belongings. Library management is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Library Use Policy for External Users

Our library does not serve external users. Academic users wishing to benefit from the library for research purposes should obtain permission by specifying the day and time they wish to benefit from the library with an official petition from the rectorate. If their requests are approved, they can use the library materials within a certain limit.
